Arsleng
International Feature Film Competition
A landscape can express a way of life, and a shot of a meadow can explain the world or a part of it. This unique quality of cinema is present in filmmaker Ulaannar’s debut feature, with the camera serving as a mediator between the beauty of nature and human tragedy. Arsleng follows Ayangga, who, after losing his wife in an accident, grieves in the endless grasslands of West Ujimqin Banner. One day, he stumbles upon an abandoned puppy. The companionship of the dog not only rekindles a humanity he thought was lost, but it also reconnects him with the life force of his ancestral land.
