FIC.UBA reopens submissions for the UBA Short Film Competition
Submissions will be open on Monday, July 21 and Tuesday, July 22
FIC.UBA has announced the exceptional reopening of the call for entries for the UBA Short Film Competition. Following requests from students who missed the previous deadline, the Festival will reopen the online submission form on Monday, July 21 and Tuesday, July 22, via its official website on this link.
The UBA Short Film Competition is part of the official selection of the Festival’s third edition, which will take place from October 1 to 8, 2025. It is open to short films made by students of the University of Buenos Aires, with a maximum running time of twenty minutes, completed after July 2024.
The jury, composed of prominent figures from the audiovisual and academic fields, will watch the selected works and present the following awards:
The Best Short Film Award includes a cash prize of ARS 2,000,000 and a place in the Campus Málaga Talent training program at the 2026 Málaga Film Festival.
The Best Direction Award consists of a trip to Colombia to participate in the BIFF BANG program at the Bogotá International Film Festival.
A Special Prize sponsored by INDI GANDHI will also be awarded, consisting of one week of free camera and lighting equipment rental for the winning team's next short film.
To participate, it is essential to carefully read the Festival’s rules and regulations and complete the submission form between July 21 and 22 at www.ficuba.ar. This will be the final opportunity to be part of the 2025 UBA Short Film Competition.
