Introducing HACK FIC.UBA: a call for UBA digital creators

As part of the third edition of the UBA International Film Festival (FIC.UBA), the first-ever HACK FIC.UBA invites students to dive into the intersection of digital creativity, innovation, and audiovisual storytelling.

This new initiative, developed in collaboration with the renowned Málaga Film Festival — organizers of Hack MAFIZ — seeks to discover emerging talent within the university community, helping students develop their ideas and supporting their path to professionalization.

Starting June 4, students over the age of 18 who are currently enrolled in any UBA programme (including the CBC) can apply to be part of this transformative experience, which includes mentorships, challenges, masterclasses, and meetings with key figures from the audiovisual, digital, and entertainment industries.

Selected participants will work in interdisciplinary teams to tackle online creative challenges from July to September. Out of all applicants, 20 finalists will be chosen to compete in an in-person round during the festival. The winning team will go on to represent UBA at Hack MAFIZ during the 2026 Málaga Film Festival.

This initiative serves as an incubator for ideas and talent, encouraging collaboration, strategic thinking, and the creation of content for new platforms — further positioning the festival as a space for learning, development, and connection between the academic world and the contemporary cultural industry.
