Family Album
Laura Casabé Focus
The military dictatorship in Argentina ended in 1983, but for trans people it continued for more than a decade. Persecuted by the Police, forced to live locked up and without access to any rights, they survived together in pensions and clandestine meetings. Some went into exile, others died or were killed. They all fought. Today the survivors work to reconstruct that memory: an archive of thousands of photos is the basis of this Family Album that travels to the privacy of a denied story.
