40 years of the Trial of the Juntas
This screening do not require a previous ticket as they are on a first-come, first-served basis and are held until the theater is full.
1985, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The trial of the military juntas of the last dictatorship (1976–83), accused of crimes against humanity. Like in Nuremberg after the Second World War, the trial was entirely filmed and recorded on U-matic tapes. Over ninety sessions, the horror was recounted and a final sentence delivered: Never Again. The defense arguments and the political and ideological positions of those who supported the dictatorship. In the voices of the victims, the stories of torture and pain. Life and death within the same courtroom. An archive of the past and a film that proposes a point of departure.
Ulises de la Orden
Ulises de la Orden is a director and graduate of the Universidad del Cine. He directed Río arriba (2006), Tierra adentro (2011), Desierto verde (2013), Mujer entera (2015), Chaco (2018), Nueva mente (2019), Amanecer en mi tierra (2019), Marea y viento (2020) and Vilca, la magia del silencio (2021).
