The Monkey with Its Tongue Out
Ibero-American Short Film Competition
The Monkey with Its Tongue Out is a short essay film interweaving personal memory, historical narrative, and philosophical reflection, using the zoo as a metaphor for the Technocene. The film combines documentary and AI-generated footage to examine algorithm-mediated perception and the aesthetics of the artificial.
It is screened together with Las hijas de la montaña, 24 limones, MAIO, Hola madre, Volver un día and A todas las sombras de nuestra marea

Sebastián Arriagada
Sebastián Arriagada is a filmmaker and photographer. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Arts at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, where he develops projects that investigate visual representation through data-generated imagery. His notable works include Zoológico imaginario (2024), 50 veces los Hawker Hunter bombardean el Palacio de la Moneda (2023) y Nueva carne (2021).
