Between April and December 1985, in Buenos Aires, Argentina held the oral and public trial against the nine members of the three Military Juntas that governed the country between 1976 and 1983. They were responsible for a dictatorship that, through state terrorism, made thousands of people disappear. Over seventy-eight hearings, in which 833 witnesses testified, the sinister puzzle woven by the dictatorship was finally pieced together. This trial is today considered unique and exemplary in the history of international jurisprudence.
