PROGRAM
Las hijas de la montaña
The Daughters of the Mountain
Ibero-American Short Film Competition
Sonia is a young woman living in El Manzano, Mendoza. Her family practices transhumance as a way of life. Every December, they embark together on the herding journey through the mountains to the summer pasture to feed the goats. This year’s herding is Sonia’s last, coinciding with her final year of high school. Upon graduation, Sonia faces a dilemma: return to the countryside and continue the family’s demanding tradition, or leave that life behind to pursue a more prosperous future in the city, far away from her family.
It is screened together with El mono con la lengua afuera, 24 limones, MAIO, Hola madre, Volver un día and A todas las sombras de nuestra marea
