Special Screenings
When Christiane learns that her daughter Margot, suffering from Charcot's disease, wishes to take her own life, she is faced with a challenge to her maternal love. The Power of Goodbye is a poignant short film that delves into the complexities of a mother's love through the lens of a woman faced with her daughter's heartbreaking decision in the face of a degenerative illness.
The story unfolds through everyday scenes, capturing the emotional and physical challenges both women endure. Moments of deep connection—like a cherished memory of a lakeside picnic—stand in stark contrast to the growing hardships brought on by the disease. Margot's desire to take control of her own fate tests Christiane's unconditional love, leaving her torn between honoring her daughter's wishes and the fear of losing her.
