Boy Meets Girl
Homage to Leos Carax
Having just split with his lover, a depressed young man, Alex, happening upon a party, decides to crash it. There he meets an aging actress who has also just left her lover, and the two begin a complex relationship that grants them a temporary reprieve from the cruelties of everyday existence.
Leos Carax
Leos Carax is one of the most inventive and acclaimed auteurs in French cinema. A former critic at Cahiers du Cinéma, he transitioned to directing in the early 1980s and immediately established himself as a revelation with two films that became cult classics, Boy Meets Girl and Mauvais Sang. This was followed by The Lovers on the Bridge, Pola X and Holy Motors, considered by part of the international press as the second most important film of the 21st century. In 2021, his film Annette opened the Cannes Film Festival, where he won the award for Best Director.
