Elena is a renowned documentary filmmaker, happily married to Augusto, a musician her own age. One morning, Elena receives an anonymous phone call: Augusto has collapsed and is in the hospital. At the clinic, accompanied by her friend and assistant Esther, Elena discovers that the person who brought him in is Adela, a thirty-year-old woman who turns out to be his lover. Not only must Elena endure such a revelation, but on the verge of death, her husband asks her to take care of the young woman.
