Film submission
The University of Buenos Aires and the School of Architecture, Design and Urbanism (FADU), through the Secretariat of Design Policies and Technological Innovation, the Secretariat of Institutional Relations, Culture and Communication, and the Audiovisual Design programme, announce the opening of the call for entries for the fourth edition of the UBA International Film Festival (FIC.UBA). Submission for all competitions is free of charge and will remain open until Tuesday, 30 June by clicking here.
FIC.UBA 2026 reaffirms its commitment to cinema and strengthens its role as a space for exhibition, education and exchange, connecting the university community with the contemporary audiovisual landscape, both locally and internationally. With free admission, the festival will present a diverse programme including its various competitions, retrospectives, tributes and special screenings.
Call for entries
Filmmakers will be able to submit their works — both national and international — through the festival’s official website or via festhome.com.
Submission is free of charge and open to fiction, documentary and animation films, in both feature-length and short-film formats. The festival includes five competition sections and will award cash prizes in each category:
International Feature Film Competition
Ibero-American Short Film Competition
UBA Short Film Competition
DIS Graduates Feature Film Competition

Awards and international opportunities
For its fourth edition, FIC.UBA will once again award the best Argentine short film in the Ibero-American Short Film Competition with the Festhome Distribution Award, consisting of one year of international distribution through Festhome.com, including submission fees.
In addition, the festival will offer international travel opportunities to attend renowned film festivals. With a focus on supporting the future of emerging filmmakers, FIC.UBA will award the winning projects of the UBA Short Film Competition with:
A trip to Spain to participate in Málaga Talent at the Málaga Film Festival.
A trip to Colombia to attend BIFF Bang, the talent development section of the Bogotá Film Festival.
These recognitions reinforce FIC.UBA’s commitment to education, international exchange and supporting new voices in cinema.
