Los amantes del Pont-Neuf
Homage to Leos Carax
A drunken street artist and a young painter, who has just left a relationship and is losing her sight, live as vagrants on the Pont Neuf, Paris’s oldest bridge, which is being rebuilt. As her eyesight deteriorates, she becomes increasingly dependent on him, and in their everyday life, the two fall in love.
Leos Carax
Leos Carax is one of the most inventive and acclaimed auteurs in French cinema. A former critic at Cahiers du Cinéma, he transitioned to directing in the early 1980s and immediately established himself as a revelation with two films that became cult classics, Boy Meets Girl and Mauvais Sang. This was followed by The Lovers on the Bridge, Pola X and Holy Motors, considered by part of the international press as the second most important film of the 21st century. In 2021, his film Annette opened the Cannes Film Festival, where he won the award for Best Director.
