Mala sangre
Mauvais Sang
Homage to Leos Carax
As a deadly virus which infects people who have loveless sex sweeps Paris, a lonely pariah attempts to steal a potent antidote, only to fall for the mistress of his partner-in-crime. Is the infectious young love the cure to the bad blood?
Leos Carax
Leos Carax is one of the most inventive and acclaimed auteurs in French cinema. A former critic at Cahiers du Cinéma, he transitioned to directing in the early 1980s and immediately established himself as a revelation with two films that became cult classics, Boy Meets Girl and Mauvais Sang. This was followed by The Lovers on the Bridge, Pola X and Holy Motors, considered by part of the international press as the second most important film of the 21st century. In 2021, his film Annette opened the Cannes Film Festival, where he won the award for Best Director.
