Tango music is part of the cultural heritage of Buenos Aires and of humanity. The APUBA Tango Orchestra was born from a union project. Made up of non-teaching and teaching staff, the UBA becomes a space for artistic development outside working hours. Members of the university community with an interest in and experience with music come together in a collective activity that broadens the scope of their working lives. Without ceasing to be a space for socialising and recreation, it becomes an opportunity for artistic expression, cultural dissemination, and a life’s vocation. The Orchestra portrays another facet of what public education in Argentina makes possible.
