Chilean filmmaker Diego Figueroa’s film, with the symbolism of wild animals in its title, is a psychological thriller set in an ominous time and place in recent history: Santiago, 1975, under Augusto Pinochet’s military dictatorship. There, the life of Raúl Peralta -a disabled man who cares for his mother- changes with the arrival of unsettling neighbors, whose violent habits are revealed through the screams of pain heard through the walls. Political torture bursts into the narrative and remains there until a violent ending, where the protagonist finds something resembling his own brand of justice.
